Big data is everywhere. It can come from sensors, satellite and medical imagery, video from security cameras, and even financial markets and retail operations. Data sets from these sources can contain terabytes of data, and may grow on the order of gigabytes per day. While we can gain greater insight and make more informed decisions, analyzing big data sets can be a challenge. The analysis process can drain resources, both time and money, can be difficult to choose the relevant modeling approach and complicated to identify important parameters. There is no single approach to solving these big data challenges. Attend this session if you are working with big data and/or image files. We demonstrate a number of techniques and features you can use with MATLAB to tackle these challenges. We will highlight: a. Importing big data into MATLAB b. Using MATLAB within big data platforms such as Hadoop c. Analyzing and gaining insight from large data, including block processing and machine learning d. Accelerating your algorithms and applications.
